Dr. Ilan Charcon

Research Fellow at ICGS. Born in Lebanon, Dr. Charcon is a scholar of law and Middle Eastern affairs and holds a PhD in Law from Tel Aviv University. He is a founding partner and Chairman of CBA Charcon, Ben Ami, Asher & Co., one of Israel’s largest and leading law firms in the fields of commercial and civil law, consistently ranked as a top-tier firm in its areas of practice by leading Israeli and international legal directories.

In the legal field, Dr. Charcon is a leading expert in planning and construction law, as well as in advising on complex mergers and acquisitions. In addition to his commercial practice, he is extensively involved in arbitration and mediation and serves as a member of the Israeli Institute of Business Arbitration.

Alongside his legal work, Charcon draws on his academic and personal background as a respected commentator in leading media outlets, particularly on Middle Eastern affairs and Lebanon. In addition to his professional and public activities, he is the author of several notable books that have contributed to legal thought and intellectual discourse in Israel. His professional works include Building Rights Law in Israel, regarded as a seminal work in the field of real estate, and Property Rights versus Specific Sharing Rights.
